This position will support the Department of Neurosurgery in its clinical and academic mission.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Clinical Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Demonstrates clinical competence and surgical excellence in neurosurgery.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates factual knowledge and technical skills in the preoperative evaluation, operative management, and postoperative care of patients, including critical care, with pathologic conditions pertaining to neurosurgical care.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates the knowledge and surgical experience in evolving techniques, such as endovascular procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains compliance with all applicable State, Federal, UNOS, CMS, and Joint Commission laws, rules, regulations and requirements and create policies and procedures that ensure compliance for the programs with the foregoing.</p> </li><li> <p>Surgically evaluates and treats patients who are determined to require services.</p> </li><li> <p>Rounds daily on patient(s) in accordance with best practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends departmental and interdepartmental physician meetings, morbidity and mortality conferences, quality improvement process, selection meetings and other meetings deemed as appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>Completes required medical documentation for patients' charts in a timely manner according to hospital bylaws.
