<p>Job Requirements</p> <p>You may be eligible for a hire on bonus of $7,500.00 and relocation assistance.</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>The Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals to perform imaging procedures that assess organ function and detect abnormalities. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist operates specialized imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and following radiation safety regulations. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will collaborate with healthcare teams and licensed practitioners to produce high-quality diagnostic images for accurate evaluation and treatment planning.</p> <p>PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES</p> <ul> <li>Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients using gamma cameras, PET/CT scanners, and other specialized imaging equipment to visualize specific body functions and organs. </li><li>Maintains a safe environment with the operation of nuclear medicine equipment for customers/patients, coworkers, and self by adhering to nuclear medicine policies, procedures, and guidelines. </li><li>Screens patients properly and effectively documents and communicates pertinent and required information pre and post procedure performance. </li><li>Positions patients for imaging exam using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with department safety procedures and protocols. </li><li>Produces images consistent with image quality standards and evaluate nuclear medicine exams for technical quality. </li><li>Properly identifies, prepares and administers medications that are within the Nuclear Medicine Technologist's scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. </li><li>Monitors patients during exams, observing for any adverse reactions or complications, and taking appropriate action when necessary. </li><li>Maintains flexibility, adapts to changes in workflow processes and the needs of the Health First organization based upon fluctuations in patient volume. </li><li>Communicates effectively with customers (patients, LP, other Health First associates, the public, etc.) always using excellent customer relation skills. </li><li>Follows all Federal, State and Regional healthcare regulations and adhere to The Joint Commission/ACR standards. </li><li>Provides orientation and education for new Technologists and assist radiologists in developing new protocols. </li></ul> <p>Work Experience</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Education: Joint Review Committee Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT) Nuclear Medicine Program. </li><li>Work Experience: None </li><li>Licensure: General Radiographer licensure in the State of Florida. </li><li>Certification: </li><li>Any one of the following: </li><li>American Registry of Radiologic Technologist for Nuclear Medicine Technology - ARRT (N) OR </li><li>Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). </li><li>American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintained. </li><li>Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: </li><li>Ability to report to department within 30 minutes when on call. </li><li>Demonstrate effective time management, critical thinking skills, and coordinate scheduling and patient flow. </li><li>Able to work effectively and efficiently in a stressful work environment and able to respond to life threatening situations. </li></ul> <p>PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Work Experience: Prior Nuclear Medicine experience. </li><li>Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Physically agile; requires walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching majority of the shift. </li><li>Heavy work that frequently includes lifting or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more with or without assistance. </li><li>May require moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders or overhead. </li><li>May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift. </li><li>May be exposed to inside environments and outside environments with extreme temperatures, air contamination, dirt, grease, or water. </li><li>May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC guidelines. </li><li>May operate various types of manual and motorized equipment used in the transportation of materials. </li><li>May be exposed to intense noise or vibration and awkward or confined work position. </li><li>Communicating with others to exchange information. </li><li>Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks. </li><li>Workspace may vary from open to confined. </li><li>May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle. </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <p>ABOUT HEALTH FIRST</p> <p>At Health First, diversity and inclusion are essential for our continued growth and evolution.
