<p>Job Details</p> <p>Division: Nucor Rebar Fabrication Southeast</p> <p>Location: Benson, NC, United States</p> <p>Other Available Locations: N/A Basic Job Functions: PURPOSE: Prepare estimates of the quantities of fabricated reinforcing bars, mesh, accessories and related products required for projects on which Nucor Rebar Fabrication seeks to offer a bid so that contractor customers can receive timely proposals.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication's vision and values• Develop a knowledge of the reinforcing bar industry and the basics of estimating quantities of rebar, mesh, and accessories• Read blueprints to create accurate estimates• Develop knowledge of the CRSI Manual of Standard Practice, Reinforcing Anchorages and Splices and the Placing Reinforcing Bars manuals• Ability to continue building estimating skills and learning to review plans to assist in the assessment of the project, project scope and bidding strategy with trainer's and Estimating Lead guidance.• Complete the estimating of simple projects (e.g. foundation walls, footings, pier, slabs, stairs, retaining walls) with little or no assistance • Assist with estimating projects from bidding through pre-award• Work with sales staff to ensure accurate and complete estimates are made at bid time• Perform other duties as required by the supervisorMinimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future• General knowledge of basic math, geometry, and trigonometry • Ability to read blueprints• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsPreferred Qualifications: PREFERENCES• Two-year technical degree or certification in construction management or project management from an accredited school or college • Construction and concrete-related knowledge and experience• Basic knowledge of construction or civil technology SELECTION CRITERIA• Ability to handle multiple projects• Aptitude for problem solving• Ability to work in a team environment• Good communication skills • Excellent organization and time management skills SPECIAL DEMANDSMust be able to work overtime when required </li></ul> <p>Nucor is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer - M/F/Disabled/Vets - and a drug - free workplace</p>
