<p>Overview</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>Participate in teaching, scholarly activities, and service in the osteopathic School of Medicine with a goal of producing competent and holistic physicians.</p> <p>Participate in and/or direct multidisciplinary curricular courses and formative and summative assessment of learners including courses during the first and second year of the osteopathic medical curriculum.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Facilitates the creation of a learning environment for student instruction that encourages critical thinking, investigation, self-direction and respect for the uniqueness and strengths of each individual.</p> <p>Coordinates and delivers courses as assigned.</p> <p>Evaluates student-learning outcomes for expected course and program competencies.</p> <p>Participates in classroom and/or clinical instruction.</p> <p>Communicates institutional and program policies and goals to students, faculty, staff, and clinical affiliates as appropriate.</p> <p>Communicates course learning outcomes and expected student competencies to clinical affiliates.</p> <p>Demonstrates a professional role within the discipline by remaining current with trends, issues and practices.</p> <p>Participates in activities to remain current with advances in knowledge base, teaching and learning strategies, professional practice, trends, issues, and curricular resources.</p> <p>Participates in the assessment of Program Learning Outcomes as needed.</p> <p>Requirements, Preferences and Experience</p> <p>DO, MD, or PhD in designated basic science field (Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, or Neuroscience) or in a related or academically appropriate area from an accredited institution with demonstrated experience in teaching</p> <p>Demonstrates basic currency with trends, issues, and practices in the profession or discipline.</p> <p>Unrestricted certification/licensure to teach/practice in the State of Tennessee; if DO or MD, must have ability to obtain an active and unrestricted medical license in the state where clinical activities occur</p> <p>About Baptist Memorial Health Care</p> <p>At Baptist, we owe our success to our colleagues, who have both technical expertise and a compassionate attitude.
