<p>inventHQ, the Broomfield Library makerspace, is hiring Teen Assistants to support and assist staff during the busy summer season. The Teen Assistants will greet patrons, give tours of the makerspace and help staff guide patrons through maker-based projects and activities. They will assist with set-up and clean-up for Open Hours and create relationships with staff and patrons of all ages.   </p> <p>Are you a good fit?</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to work well with people of all ages and backgrounds</p> </li><li> <p>Comfortable in a noisy, fast-paced environment</p> </li><li> <p>Interest and experience in teaching others to use makerspace tools and equipment, which could include: laser cutting and engraving, 3D printing, vinyl cutting with electronic cutters, machine sewing and embroidery, sublimation printing and heat pressing, vector design software, and general crafts</p> </li><li> <p>A desire to learn and to be creative</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently and collaboratively on projects</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Info & Requirements</p> <p>Positions will be part-time with a different number of hours per week depending on candidates' availability and inventHQ needs. Working hours may be Tuesday & Thursday from 2 - 7 p.m. and Friday & Saturday from 8:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. </p> <p>Successful candidates will be scheduled to attend a mandatory full-day training on Wednesday, May 27. Summer shifts will be scheduled from June 2 to August 1, 2026. </p> <p>Education </p> <ul> <li>High School diploma / GED, or working towards completion of diploma/GED </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>1 year experience (formal or informal) in childcare or tech help (including laser cutting and engraving, 3D printing and design, fiber arts, digital design software, sublimation printing, vector-based design software, and/or related makerspace technology) - preferred </li></ul> <p>NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be between the ages of 14 and 19 years old and live and/or go to school in Broomfield or have a strong connection to Broomfield as determined by the department. New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: in-person or virtual interviews, reference checks, and background checks, which may include local police check and sex-offender registry.</p>
