Duties include, but are not limited to, patrol interior/exterior and encircling properties of Saint Paul College; create and maintain a safe environment; monitor and patrol all campus-parking areas; respond to campus-wide emergency situations and provide lead work direction for a shift that consists of student Public Safety Dispatchers.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Patrol interior/exterior and encircling properties of Saint Paul College (SPC).</p> </li><li> <p>Regulate, monitor and patrol all campus parking areas: parking ramp, surface lots, loading dock ramp and area, driveways and fire access lanes.</p> </li><li> <p>Respond to campus-wide emergency situation and trouble calls.</p> </li><li> <p>Enforce established key responsibility procedures for all campus buildings.</p> </li><li> <p>Direct and assign all student security monitors (5-7).</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as requested by the Director of Public Safety or the Vice President of Finance and Operations.</p> </li></ul> <p>Salary Range:</p> <p>The salary range for this position is $23.26 - $32.06 hourly.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>At least two (2) years of experience as a Security Patrol Officer, Crime Prevention Officer, or Peace Officer (Associate's degree in Law Enforcement, Paralegal or related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience; Bachelor's degree in above areas may substitute for two (2) years of experience).</p> </li><li> <p>Must pass FBI/BCA background check free from convictions of felony and/or misdemeanor violations.</p> </li><li> <p>Must possess a valid Minnesota Class D Drivers License or obtain one prior to appointment.</p> </li><li> <p>Must pass pre-employment physical and drug test exam prior to employment.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Skills in written communication with the ability to provide detailed, clear information.</p> </li><li> <p>Skills in oral communication for interviewing witnesses, victims, suspects, and defusing conflicts and violent situations.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of standard police practices including investigation techniques and procedures, citizen's arrest power and loss prevention techniques.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience as a Campus Security Officer or similar position with a College or University.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work as a team member as well as individually.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of access control, video surveillance, report writing software, intrusion alarms, detection and fire alarms.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience providing customer service, assisting the public and de-escalating difficult situations.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Application Materials:</p> <p>Please ensure you have the following items submitted with your application:</p> <ul> <li>Resume </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements</p> <p>All resumes must clearly address the Required Qualifications as stated above.
