<p>Evening position to oversee employee call ins, assist with scheduling, liaison with drivers and campus community to assist when we do not have supervisors on duty.</p> <p>Position hours will be Monday-Friday, 3:30pm-12:00am.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Must be proficient in data entry/keyboarding using various Microsoft Office applications. </li><li>Minimum 3 years' experience in either transportation or dispatch roles. </li><li>Must have a valid drivers' license. CDL is preferred. </li><li>Experience working with union staff </li></ul> <p>Skills and Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Good knowledge of the geography, patrol territories, roads, streets, buildings owned/operated by the university and special hazards within the University Campus </li><li>Must have strong communication skills and ability to communicate with a diverse community. </li><li>Must be able to operate and perform under varying degrees of stress and pressure and be able to prioritize emergencies. </li><li>Multi-task in a high-volume, community and student service centered environment. </li><li>Must have the ability to be creative and innovative in problem solving. </li><li>Candidate may be required to sit for extended periods of time. </li><li>Must be willing to work nights and weekends. </li><li>Candidates must have the ability to effectively engage in communications that are often various and multiple, e.g.: speaking clearly and hearing feedback on phone conversations, viewing live-streaming video with adept concentration skills, navigating various software technologies including those associated with transportation applications and internet-based websites, and excellent data entry </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Communicate via telephone and internet-based applications with drivers, supervisors, and auxiliary departments. </li><li>Coordinate and manage the daily schedules of campus drivers. </li><li>Communicate effectively with drivers and campus community members. </li><li>Prioritize telephone communications. Answer multiple telephone lines, receiving emergency and non-emergency calls, Make urgent and critically important decisions regarding emergency situations based on knowledge, skills and policies and procedures. </li><li>Ensure timely and efficient transportation services across campus. </li><li>Monitor vehicle usage and report any maintenance needs. </li><li>Address and resolve any transportation-related issues or concerns. </li><li>Comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations related to communications and protected data and information. Report technical problems clearly and expeditiously to the appropriate department/division. </li><li>Ensure compliance with campus transportation policies and safety regulations </li><li>Assist with and monitor transportation duties involving overtime opportunities involving events during the week and/or weekends. </li><li>Monitor transportation application video-streaming as assigned and report and/or dispatch any anomalies or issues. </li><li>Drive and monitor driver routes, breaks, and timeliness of drivers. </li><li>Perform administrative duties such as data entry and retrieval, information filing, record-keeping, equipment inventory and repair requests. </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements Tools/Equipment Application Instructions</p> <p>In addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.</p>
