<p>Overview</p> <p>The BSA/AML Systems Analyst is responsible for the administration, performance, and continuous improvement of the credit union's BSA transaction monitoring platform and other tools. This is a systems-first role focused on owning the tools - ensuring they are properly configured, performing reliably, and generating meaningful output in support of the credit union's BSA/AML program. This position's core value is ensuring the monitoring infrastructure works well so the BSA and Fraud teams can focus on review and investigation.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Serves as primary administrator of BSA/AML automated solutions (e.g. transaction monitoring, risk assessment) </li><li>Manages rule configuration and parameter settings, recommending and implementing adjustments to improve effectiveness and reduce false positives </li><li>Monitors for issues with alerts, data feeds, case routing, and system availability; coordinates with vendor support on issue resolution </li><li>Performs testing and validation for system updates, rule changes, and new monitoring scenarios; drafts/amends procedures for new functionality </li><li>Supports BSA risk assessments, audits, and regulatory exams </li><li>Conducts regular quality reviews of BSA-related reports (e.g., beneficial owner reviews, OFAC scan verification, currency transaction reports) </li><li>Assists with suspicious activity investigations and account reviews, as needed </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. Management reserves the right to change or modify the functions of this job as required to meet the needs of the credit union </li><li>Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) </li></ul> <p>#NWFCU1</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>Minimum 3 years of experience in BSA/AML compliance, fraud operations, or system administration </li><li>Ability to obtain BSA/AML certification within two (2) years of hire </li><li>Moderate knowledge of federal banking BSA related laws and regulations governing financial institutions </li><li>Technical training or work experience in application systems support or business analysis </li><li>Ability to review and analyze or interpret data and documentation and to make decisions regarding subsequent actions </li><li>High degree of initiative, results-oriented and able to work independently with little supervision </li><li>Strong organization skills, ability to learn quickly, and accurately and timely complete tasks </li><li>High level of personal integrity, and ability to professionally handle confidential matters </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Ability to work effectively on-site in our Herndon, VA headquarters and equally effectively remotely </li><li>Must be able to work the hours of Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in finance, information management, general business or another related field </li><li>Direct experience with Verafin or comparable BSA/AML transaction monitoring platform </li><li>BSA/AML certification (e.g. CAMS, CBSAP) </li></ul> <p>Additional Compensation</p> <p>Northwest Federal offers a comprehensive and inclusive benefits program, which includes medical, dental and vision plans for you and your family, 4 weeks paid vacation, 12 paid holidays, 24 hours of paid volunteer time, parental leave, company paid disability and life insurance, and a generous 401(k) plan with up to 7% employer match.</p> <p>EEO Notice</p> <p>Northwest Federal Credit Union is an Equal Opportunity Employer and will consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or any other classification protected by law.</p> <p>NWFCU complies with federal and state disability laws and makes reasonable accommodations for applicants and employees with disabilities.
