<p>Employment Type:</p> <p>Full time</p> <p>Shift:</p> <p>Day Shift</p> <p>Description:</p> <p>RECREATION THERAPIST</p> <p>Location: Saint Francis LIFE College Avenue, Newark, DE</p> <p>Status: Full time</p> <p>Shift: Mon to Fri, 8 am to 430 pm, no night/weekend//holiday shifts</p> <p>Incentives: 1st Day Health Benefits</p> <p>Position Purpose:</p> <p>Plan, develop, and implement therapeutic recreational activities for all participants, including those with Alzheimer's and related dementia. Provide direction and support to recreation assistants and other staff and ensure quality improvement within the recreation department.</p> <p>Position Information:</p> <p>Occasional home care visits will be required to complete assessments. Monthly visits to assigned nursing homes will also be required.</p> <p>What you will do:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Manage daily operations of the recreational therapy department, including staffing, assessments, and referrals.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and various assessments.</p> </li><li> <p>Plan and implement treatments to address participants' diverse needs, coordinating with other departments as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Plan and oversee activities for dementia-specific populations, including coordinating personal care and providing support to staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead quality assessment and performance improvement activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop discipline-specific standards of care for the activities department.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy related field OR NCCAP Activity Professionals Certification.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of two (2) years demonstrated experience in therapeutic recreation related services with geriatric population.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of one (1) year documented experience working with a frail or elderly population or if less than one (1) year of experience, must receive appropriate training onsite upon hire.</p> </li><li> <p>Must manage conflict well, be customer focused and be able to adapt to ongoing change with regard to work priorities and be flexible with work priorities.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong interpersonal, organizational, conflict management, problem solving, critical thinking and customer service skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently with organizational agility, adaptability and flexibility with work priorities as well as ability to prioritize workload.</p> </li><li> <p>Superior written, verbal communication and presentation skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiar with email and calendaring systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Up to 10% travel within the geographic region.</p> </li></ul> <p>Position Highlights and Benefits:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Comprehensive benefit including 1st Day medical coverage, dental, vision, paid time off, 403B and educational assistance.</p> </li><li> <p>Access to daily pay and employee referral incentives.</p> </li><li> <p>Supportive environment with a patient-centered focus.</p> </li><li> <p>Opportunities for professional development.</p> </li></ul> <p>Ministry/Facility Information</p> <p>Saint Francis LIFE College Avenue, part of Trinity Health PACE, provides high-quality care to seniors in the communities we serve.
