<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Facilities Day Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the facility during regular business hours. The Facilities Day Porter plays a critical role in supporting employees, patients, visitors, and guests by ensuring the facility remains presentable, functional, and compliant with cleanliness and safety standards at all times.</p> <p>Essential Functions/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain cleanliness of lobbies, reception areas, hallways, restrooms, break rooms, and other high-traffic common areas through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and surface cleaning </li><li>Routinely inspect, clean, disinfect, and restock restrooms to ensure sanitation standards and supply availability are consistently met </li><li>Perform frequent disinfection of high-touch surfaces, including door handles, handrails, elevator buttons, shared equipment, and counters using approved cleaning agents </li><li>Respond promptly to spills, accidents, and unscheduled cleaning needs to prevent hazards and maintain safety </li><li>Empty trash and recycling receptacles and replace liners to prevent overflow, odors, or unsanitary conditions </li><li>Restock facility supplies such as paper products, soap, sanitizer, and cleaning materials in restrooms, kitchens, and common areas </li><li>Maintain exterior areas by picking up litter, sweeping entrances and walkways, and ensuring building entry points remain clean and inviting </li><li>Perform minor handyman tasks such as replacing light bulbs, tightening loose fixtures, and reporting larger maintenance or safety issues to the Facilities and Fleet Manager </li><li>Assist with setup, breakdown, and cleanup for meetings, events, and special activities as needed </li><li>Follow all safety procedures, infection control protocols, and organizational policies related to cleaning, chemical use, and equipment operation </li><li>Communicate facility concerns, supply needs, or observed issues promptly to the Facilities and Fleet Manager </li></ul> <p>SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of proper cleaning methods, disinfectants, and sanitation practices </li><li>Ability to safely use cleaning tools, equipment, and supplies </li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards throughout the day </li><li>Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Good communication skills and a customer-service-oriented mindset when interacting with staff and visitors </li><li>Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday </li><li>Basic knowledge of facility safety practices and light maintenance tasks </li><li>OSHA safety training, infection control training, or custodial certifications are a plus but not required </li></ul> <p>Education/Experience</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED preferred. </li><li>Previous experience in custodial services, janitorial work, facilities support, or building maintenance preferred. </li><li>Experience in healthcare, office, educational, or public-facing facilities is a plus. </li><li>On-the-job training will be provided. </li></ul>
