<p>Hiring Department</p> <p>The College of Nursing at UMSL</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The College of Nursing at UMSL is looking for an Assistant Teaching Professor, not on the tenure track with expertise in Pediatric Nursing to provide service to the College, University, community, and profession and contribute to the mission and strategic priorities of the College of Nursing. This position includes clinical teaching.</p> <p>Applications are encouraged from individuals in the following area of expertise:</p> <ul> <li>Pediatric Nurse Practitioner </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li>Participate in the ongoing development, implementation, evaluation, and enhancement of nursing academic programs: </li></ol> <p>a. Participate in program and course revisions.</p> <p>b. Revise assigned courses to reflect program outcomes, AACN essentials, and other professional standards, state board of nursing minimum standards, current evidence and best practice.</p> <p>c. Collaborate with emphasis area coordinators, clinical coordinators, program directors, and the Associate Dean for Academic Programs to identify the types of</p> <p>clinical experiences and sites needed for optimal clinical education of students.</p> <p>d. Teach graduate and undergraduate nursing courses as assigned.</p> <p>e. Supervise nursing students as assigned.</p> <p>f. Collaborate with clinical agencies in arranging student clinical experiences (e.g. orientation to objectives of clinical experience, course syllabus, clinical schedule, et al) as appropriate.</p> <p>g. Participate in the development of academic policies affecting the admission, progression, graduation and dismissal of students.</p> <p>h. Participate in the evaluation and ongoing enhancement of the curricula.</p> <p>i. Apply evidence from best education practices to curriculum development and to teaching.</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Serve the College of Nursing, University, community and profession: </li></ol> <p>a. Participate in College of Nursing faculty, standing committee, task force and other meetings.</p> <p>b. Participate in University Assembly and Faculty Senate Committees and ad hoc committees</p> <p>c. Participate in community and professional activities as appropriate.</p> <p>d. Participate in scholarly projects as appropriate.</p> <ol start="3"> <li> <p>Contribute to the mission and strategic priorities of the College of Nursing and the University of Missouri-St. Louis.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate effectively with other faculty and staff members both within the College of Nursing and throughout the University and community to develop interprofessional academic, clinical, and research opportunities.</p> </li></ol> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li> <p>A doctorate degree in nursing.</p> </li><li> <p>Unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in Missouri (a compact state)</p> </li><li> <p>Three or more years of experience as a registered professional nurse.</p> </li><li> <p>Two years of experience as a pediatric nurse practitioner.</p> </li><li> <p>Effective interpersonal skills and cultural competence.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work with a diverse group of students and colleagues.</p> </li></ol> <p>Preferred:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Classroom and or clinical teaching in baccalaureate or graduate programs</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with instructional media and technology</p> </li></ol> <p>Application Materials</p> <ul> <li>Application materials should include a letter of interest, curriculum vita, and evidence of teaching effectiveness. </li><li># letters of recommendation should be emailed directly to ALICIA HUTCHINGS, PhD, RN, CNE @ HUTCHINGSA@UMSYSTEM.EDU. </li><li>Applicants must be able to start on campus by AUGUST 2026. </li><li>If you have questions regarding this position, please contact DR.
