As a global service provider, we continually seek talented individuals.</p> <p>Title: Regional Biomass Operations Manager</p> <p>Position Type: Direct Hire</p> <p>Location: San Francisco, CA</p> <p>Reports to: Operations Supervisor</p> <p>Status: Exempt</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>PIC Group has an excellent opportunity for a Regional Biomass Operations Manager in central California. The Regional Biomass Operations Manager reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for providing direction and oversight to a team of Plant Managers assigned to biomass generating facilities located in Bakersfield, Woodland Hills, and Stockton CA. The Regional Biomass Operations Manager should have experience in biomass, utility systems, and powerhouse infrastructures, particularly in the competitive, non-regulated energy market. There is a potential for this position to be hybrid work. The Regional Biomass Operations Manager must have experience managing all aspects of power generation and plant operations in large scale industrial settings. The Regional Biomass Operations Manager will perform difficult and complex services requiring a high level of independent judgment, initiative, and discretion; work is mainly self-directed, with work results reviewed through the achievement of set goals and adherence to policies and procedures.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure that the Biomass generation and utility assets are operated in a safe and environmentally responsible manner while satisfying contracted energy requirements. </li><li>Ensure that appropriate resources are available to support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Biomass generation and utility assets. </li><li>Understand and manage the projects' commercial aspects and contractual obligations while ensuring that plant personnel do the same. </li><li>Ensure that all financial goals are met. </li><li>Assist with the management of all energy conservation initiatives, if applicable </li><li>Provide technical and administrative support to the entire project team as required. </li><li>Work closely with Plant Managers to develop, review, and manage annual O&M budgets and plans for each site. </li><li>Manage purchasing and inventory control processes. </li><li>Develop, implement, and manage consistent plant operating philosophies and best practices to maximize plant availability, efficiency, and productivity. </li><li>Develop, implement, and manage a maintenance program/strategy that incorporates economies associated with multiple plant sites, including optimizing the purchasing of commodities and supplies, contract labor and the use/sharing of spare parts. </li><li>Provide oversight and guidance to the Plant Managers to implement cost saving measures, improve plant efficiency and control operating costs. </li><li>Ensure that weekly and monthly reports are issued by the Plant Managers in a timely, consistent, and accurate manner as required. </li><li>Support the development and implementation of all Onsite Energy business unit initiatives and best practices and ensure that plant personnel do the same. </li><li>Ensure that information is effectively communicated between home office and plant personnel. </li><li>Develop and maintain a close working relationship with key customer personnel. </li><li>Travel to multiple plant locations. </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Managerial experience in the California Biomass industry </li><li>A thorough understanding of the California woody biomass fuel market </li><li>A demonstrated understanding of the operation and maintenance of plant equipment, including the importance of ensuring high availability, reliability, and efficiency. </li><li>Working knowledge of equipment such as boilers, air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, electrical distribution, lighting, HVAC, mist/dust collectors, weld water and waste treatment systems, turbines, fans, heat exchangers, transformers, motors, and piping/valves. </li><li>Must understand energy efficiency practices and energy conservation techniques. </li><li>Proven experience managing California labor requirements as well as representing labor and related issues within a collective bargaining agreement. </li><li>Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Effective written and verbal communication skills at all personnel levels. </li><li>Proven strong presentation skills to all levels of personnel, internal as well as external. </li><li>Capable of working alone or as part of a team without a significant level of supervision. </li><li>Effectively develop and manage operating & maintenance budgets. </li><li>Proven time management skills while managing multiple tasks simultaneously. </li><li>Capable of promoting and maintaining strong, positive relationships with coworkers, suppliers, contractors, vendors, and customers. </li><li>Collaborate on expertise and knowledge with other team members for the benefit of the entire Onsite Energy business unit. </li><li>Demonstrated experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). </li><li>Proficiency in MS computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Stand, walk, stoop, kneel and sit. </li><li>Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use wrists, hands and/or fingers in a repetitive motion, and reach with hands and arms extensively. </li><li>Occasionally lift objects of up to 10 pounds in weight </li><li>Use computers with exposure to video display terminals; some repetitive motion associated with data entry, the use of a computer mouse, and while using other office equipment. </li><li>Vision requirements for this position include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. </li></ul> <p>Education / Experience:</p> <ul> <li>A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, operations management, or similar field. </li><li>5+ years managerial experience in California biomass. </li></ul> <p>At PIC Group, we value our employees and believe in fair compensation that reflects their skills and contributions. The pay scale for this position is carefully determined based on the expected range of base pay, taking into consideration the specific work location. Within this range, employee pay will be determined by a combination of factors such as knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and overall performance.
