These efforts are monitored and assessed regularly to ensure accountability to all stakeholders.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Hennessey School is seeking exceptional teachers to join our team who possess a growth mindset, value collaboration and continuous feedback, are passionate about their content, and have an unwavering belief that all students are capable of meeting rigorous academic expectations.</p> <p>Essential Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote literacy </li></ul> <p>education, math skills, and overall child development</p> <ul> <li>Use play-based, hands-on, and inquiry-based learning strategies </li><li>Utilize behavior management strategies to guide children's behavior and promote </li></ul> <p>positive interactions</p> <ul> <li>Foster literacy, numeracy, fine/gross motor skills, and social-emotional development </li><li>Create a safe, nurturing, and organized classroom environment </li><li>Encourage cooperation and respect among children </li><li>Establish clear routines, expectations, and positive behavior strategies </li><li>Observe and assess student development in cognitive, social, and physical areas </li><li>Maintain records of individual student progress </li><li>Use assessment results to adapt instruction to meet students' needs </li><li>Collaborate with assistants, special education staff, and administrators </li><li>Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a </li></ul> <p>school-parent partnership for the benefit of each child's learning experience</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Understanding of early childhood developmental stages (cognitive, physical, social, emotional) </li><li>Awareness of developmental milestones and red flags </li><li>Knowledge of early literacy and numeracy foundations </li><li>Techniques for managing behavior in young children </li><li>Understanding of positive discipline and conflict resolution </li><li>Knowledge of culturally responsive teaching practices </li><li>Awareness of how to support children with special needs and English language learners </li><li>Knowledge of hygiene practices, food safety, and recognizing signs of illness or abuse </li><li>Strategies for building positive relationships with families </li><li>Ability to clearly communicate with young children, parents, and colleague </li><li>Active listening and conflict resolution </li></ul> <p>Qualifications & Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred; appropriate Massachusetts DESE licensure required-this includes a passing score on the Communication and Literacy - Skills test and a passing score on the relevant subject matter knowledge test(s </li><li>Teachers should hold an SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) endorsement; A minimum of two years teaching experience in a school setting serving a similar demographic preferred, but not required </li><li>Citizenship, residency or work visa required </li><li>Work Year/Position Details: Full Time </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>Lawrence Public Schools is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive environment for employees and applicants.
