<p>Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a CNC Machinist for a long-term, weekend shift role with a plastics manufacturing company located in Tigard, OR. The CNC Machinist position is responsible for set-up and operation of 3-5 Axis CNC Mills or CNC Lathe machines in compliance with inch and metric drawing specifications.</p> <p>PAY: $35/hr</p> <p>CNC Machinist Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Set up and operate 3-5 Axis CNC mill machines or CNC lathes to machine flat, contoured and formed parts to inch and metric drawing specifications.</p> </li><li> <p>Act as technical resource regarding tooling and machining capabilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Act as the lead in the machining department, supporting and directing staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluate and justify new tooling and machining processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate issues relating to work orders, programming errors, material shortages or errors.</p> </li><li> <p>Continuous focus on reduction of material, labor and scrap.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform minor maintenance activities as required by the preventive maintenance program.</p> </li><li> <p>Continued education and training including, but not limited to: ISO 9001, safety, blueprint reading, teamwork, Statistical Process Control and MasterCam.</p> </li><li> <p>Mentor and train other Machinists on staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Interact with engineers on design of parts.</p> </li><li> <p>Advise on corrective actions that need to be taken.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>CNC Machinist Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>4+ years of CNC Machining experience. Specialization in either mills or lathes.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to machine various plastics including WPP, NPP, FRPP, Polycarbonate, PVC, Acrylic, UHMW, Delrin, PTFE, PFA, and PVDF and other materials as they come up including metals.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to machine to .005 tolerances.</p> </li><li> <p>Able to use rotary table and divider head mill vise.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to perform tooling designs.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to use inspection tooling to measure and verify dimensions.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to read and interpret engineered drawings in metric, decimal and fractional inch units.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to set up manual machines using appropriate tooling and fixtures.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability with troubleshooting skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to set up CNC machine loading programs, tools, fixtures and setting tool offsets.</p> </li><li> <p>Able to perform more complex variety of machining skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to use MasterCam.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to CNC Program preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Good hand eye coordination and attention to detail.
