The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skills and/or ability necessary.</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or GED</p> </li><li> <p>Highly Qualified status by one of the following means is required:</p> </li><li> <p>Possess an associate's degree or higher</p> </li><li> <p>Have completed two years of post-secondary study (48 college credits)</p> </li><li> <p>Attain the PA Credential of Competency Certification within the first year of employment</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working with children</p> </li><li> <p>Strong organizational skills required</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in the use of technology</p> </li><li> <p>Effective interpersonal and communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Must maintain current CPR and First Aid certification</p> </li><li> <p>Must complete 20 hours of professional development that align with the PA Competency Standards annually</p> </li><li> <p>For secondary aides, if student requires transportation, must have and maintain valid state vehicle operator's license and good driving record. Must meet DASD procedures for transporting students (including motor vehicle record check; please see attached documents for more information)</p> </li><li> <p>Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal recordcheck requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Click here for more information about required clearances</p> </li><li> <p>Candidate must adhere to all local, state, federal, and school code requirements for employment.</p> </li></ul> <p>Duties & Responsibilities: (Abbreviated - Please review the attached job descriptions for more details on these specific opportunities)</p> <p>Paraprofessional Level 1:</p> <ul> <li>Attains and maintains current CPR/First Aid certification. </li><li>Completes staff development on an annual basis as required by the district or state mandates </li><li>Provides individual and/or small group support to implement specific academic, behavioral, and/or physical accommodations as outlined by the Individualized Education Program </li><li>Provides assistance in the development and preparation of instructional materials and adaptive strategies while utilizing technology </li><li>Maintains confidentiality of student records and information </li><li>Supports inclusion, socialization, and independence within the school setting/and or in the community </li><li>May provide transportation for small groups of students in district vehicles to community sites as directed </li><li>Collects and maintains data as required by the student plan for medical assistance logs, daily communication logs, and anecdotal records </li><li>Utilization of technology for data collection, reporting, emailing and assisting students in computer software applications as needed </li><li>Print, file, scan and record student progress reports, charts, certificates, or materials for interventions </li><li>Consults with teachers to implement goals and monitor progress </li><li>Assists students with make-up sessions as needed </li></ul> <p>Paraprofessional Level 2 (including all duties and responsibilities of Level 1, and the following):</p> <ul> <li>At the secondary level, support students independently in community settings for community-based instruction and vocational programming. </li><li>May provide direct student assistance with monitoring of medical condition, physical needs, personal care, feeding, and/or toileting. </li><li>May require Safety-Care Crisis Prevention Training and the ability to perform physical restraints. </li><li>Physical intervention with students in crisis may be required. </li><li>Exposure to body fluids. </li><li>Provides intensive program level support (academic, behavioral, and physical) to students in specialized classes, including Autistic Support, Emotional Support, Life Skills, MDS, and Transition programs. </li></ul> <p>Summary of Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Employee Assistance and Advocacy Program </li><li>Tuition Reimbursement </li><li>State Pension System (PSERS) </li><li>Participation in SwiftMD telemedicine service </li><li>...and much more! </li></ul> <p>EOE</p> <p>Attachment(s):</p> <ul> <li>2025-2026 FINAL District Calendar.pdf </li><li>DASD Board Policy 710.1 Motor Vehicle Record Check.pdf </li><li>NO710.1-AG Use of Vehicles by Staff 3.11.15.pdf </li><li>Paraprofessional Level 2 F24_New.pdf </li><li>TeamsterContract_7-1-2022 through 6-30-2027.pdf </li></ul>
