<p>Compensation Type: Hourly</p> <p>Compensation: $18.50</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Specialist, Library Circulation primarily performs various duties within the circulation area, while providing excellent customer service. The position strives to provide an optimal user experience accessing the library's materials, systems, facilities, and services.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</p> <p>Circulation Support</p> <ul> <li>Performs various duties within the library circulation area, including staffing the service desk; checking in/out materials; renewing materials; re-shelving materials; shelf reading; shifting; creating patron records; creating book cards; processing and packing/unpacking OhioLINK items; and assisting patrons in the 105 computer lab. </li><li>Participates in monthly book displays. Assumes general responsibility for circulation operations, subject to management overview and supervision. </li><li>Assists with projects, as directed. </li><li>Supports library initiatives with regards to social media postings and content sharing, as directed. </li></ul> <p>Customer Service</p> <ul> <li>Provides assistance and support to library patrons and guests. </li><li>Utilizes library software systems to retrieve and enter data. </li><li>Instructs customers in the use of library systems and equipment. </li><li>Provides general information on the use of library facilities and services. </li><li>Refers patrons to Librarians and other departments for assistance, as needed. </li><li>Resolves customer, operational, and administrative issues. </li></ul> <p>Culture of Respect</p> <ul> <li>Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community. </li><li>OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES </li><li>Attends all required department meetings and training. </li><li>Communicates any concerns related to building operations to appropriate contacts. </li><li>Works outside the normal workweek schedule to support library operations, as scheduled, including weekends. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree in related field. </li><li>Two (2) years' experience in customer service. *An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework and experience may qualify a candidate </li><li>Work Schedule: Mon-Thur 9:00a-2:00p, F 8:00a-1:00p </li></ul> <p>Full Time/Part Time:</p> <p>Part time</p> <p>Union (If Applicable):</p> <p>Scheduled Hours:</p> <p>20</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>In order to ensure your application is complete, you must complete the following:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Please ensure you have all the necessary documents available when starting the application process.
