<p>Reports to: Injection Supervisor</p> <p>Qualification / Requirements: To perform this job safely and successfully, an individual must be able to speak and read English. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. If prior experience is lacking, the willingness and ability to learn is required and will be given 6 months to show the ability to meet or achieve the job requirements listed below. If unable to meet the requirements listed below after 6 months of 'on the job' training a disqualification may apply.</p> <p>(There are three different grade levels - Grade 3 being the initial entry point for the position and includes Grade 2 and Grade 1) As the Injection Technician abilities improve and meet the additional requirements of the upper Grades, the Injection Technician could be moved into these higher Grades during the annual evaluation process (must have Supervisor and Engineer endorsement).</p> <p>Education / Experience / Skills: High School education strongly encouraged with basic Math and English skills.</p> <p>Essential Duties: Other duties may be assigned.</p> <p>Duty or Job Requirements: (Grade 3 Level)</p> <ul> <li>Should have knowledge of basic injection molding machine operation. </li><li>Should be mechanically inclined. </li><li>Must show good attendance history. </li><li>Must have a willingness to learn and listen --- and ask questions. </li><li>Must be willing to use computers in the performance of their job. </li><li>Must be teamwork oriented. </li><li>Must be willing to be exposed to oil and grease in the performance of their duties. </li><li>Must be willing to work any shift. </li><li>Must successfully complete both forklift and Crane classification training and obtain a valid operator license. </li><li>Must be willing to take part in various training classes sponsored by the company. </li><li>Must understand, complete, and comply with the LOTO training/procedures as required. </li><li>Must have effective communication skills. </li><li>Must have a good understanding of proper hook-up of hydraulic, electrical, and water lines in the performance of removing and setting molds. </li><li>Removal of die to include disconnection of services prior to the placement of a new die. </li><li>Set and secure die to platens for production </li><li>Must have basic understanding and troubleshooting of the material handling system as well as basic troubleshooting skills. Able to perform daily maintenance on the material handling system without supervision. </li><li>Must demonstrate good understanding of troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to injection molding machine problems. </li><li>Must demonstrate good understanding of troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to mold tooling problems. </li><li>Must also be able to process and set-up processes for various jobs without the eDart systems or other technologies - must have the ability to build processes from scratch. </li><li>Must possess good leadership skills and abilities. </li></ul> <p>Duty or Job Requirements: (Grade 2 Level)</p> <ul> <li>Must meet all requirements from Grade 3 </li><li>Must know how to use, where applicable, the eDart system for startup and monitoring processes, and possess basic troubleshooting skills in determining process variances. </li><li>Must have a thorough knowledge of proper hook-up of hydraulic, electrical, and water lines in the performance of removing and setting molds. </li><li>Must have a thorough understanding of the material handling system as well as basic troubleshooting skills. Able to perform daily maintenance on the material handling system without supervision. </li><li>Must demonstrate basic understanding of troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to injection molding machine problems. </li><li>Must demonstrate basic understanding of troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to mold tooling problems. </li><li>Must be ready and willing to train other Injection Technicians in lower Grade. </li></ul> <p>Duty or Job Requirements: (Grade 1 Level)</p> <ul> <li>Must meet all requirements from Grade 2 </li><li>Must be thoroughly knowledgeable on how to use, where applicable, the eDart system to startup, troubleshoot, and monitor plastic injection molding processes. </li><li>Must complete the Paulson Training available through the Dayforce system. </li><li>Must also be able to process and set-up processes for various jobs without the eDart systems or other technologies - must have the ability to build processes from scratch. </li><li>Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to injection molding machine problems. </li><li>Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to mold tooling problems. </li><li>Must possess excellent leadership skills and abilities. </li><li>Must be ready and willing to train other Injection Technicians in lower Grades </li></ul> <p>Work Environment: This job operates in a manufacturing environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment. The temperature in the work environment can be hot. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud but are compliant with OSHA standards.</p> <p>Physical Demands: This job requires standing for extended periods of time, reaching, talking, handling objects with hands, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 40 lbs.: Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print or electronically.</p> <p>This job description should not be construed to imply that these requirements are exclusive standards of the position.
