(6 years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree)</p> <p>Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills to recognize patterns in data, information or events, to draw logical conclusions and to make recommendations</p> <p>Effective oral and written communication skills to transmit information accurately and understandably</p> <p>Coordination skills to handle multiple projects concurrently in order to meet deadlines and organize/maintain system drawings</p> <p>Understanding of electric system operation, metering, communications, remote terminal unit equipment, data transmission equipment and related devices</p> <p>Teamwork skills to work with others in the department and with external customers to benefit the department and the organization as a whole</p> <p>Understanding of cybersecurity standards and trust zones to implement a defense-in-depth application security, or strong understanding of cybersecurity and trust</p> <p>Basic understanding of server/network infrastructure</p> <p>This position is a NERC/CIP position; prior to hiring the applicant is required to pass the Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or background investigation</p> <p>Once hired, the applicant must complete training prior to gaining access to critical facilities and performing necessary job duties</p> <p>Technical Skill Preferences:</p> <p>Red Hat Linux and Windows Operating Systems</p> <p>Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases</p> <p>SCADA to Remote Terminal Unit protocols (DNP3, Telegyr 8979, Conitel 2020)</p> <p>NET, C++, Visual Basic, Scripting</p> <p>Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio)</p> <p>Technical support includes programming, designing, implementing and analyzing all facets of the EMS/SCADA system used to monitor and control the power grid in BHE Renewable's footprint</p> <p>Ensures accuracy, integrity and continuous operation of the EMS/SCADA system and associated data</p> <p>Responsible for configuration of system databases and development of one-line schematic displays utilized by real time grid operators</p> <p>Manages multiple projects in parallel for the addition and upgrade of electric substations and equipment</p> <p>Coordinates with field personnel to test and commission remote control and alarming of substation equipment via the EMS/SCADA system</p> <p>Works with team to plan and implement long-term system upgrade projects to support new technologies and growth of renewable generation and load</p> <p>Coordinates with other utilities and regional entities to support real time data exchange between control centers</p> <p>Works with business units to incorporate database and one-line schematic display changes into the EMS/SCADA system</p> <p>Supports users utilizing EMS Advanced Applications (State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, Training Simulation)</p> <p>Creates and maintains simple and complex scripts to automate functionality and perform calculations</p> <p>Works individually and with the team to provide 24x7 support to the real-time grid operators.</p>
