<p>Job Title: Manager of Sponsored Programs Operations</p> <p>Grade: 31</p> <p>Salary: $124,295-$147,801</p> <p>The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking to fill the full-time position of Manager of Sponsored Programs Operations. The Manager of Sponsored Programs Operations, will be responsible for the coordination and day to day operations of NYSPI's Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) which manages a robust sponsored project portfolio with over 600 active awards totaling more than $105M per year, mostly funded by NIH. The Manager of Sponsored Programs Operations will report directly to the Director of OSP and will work closely with the Pre- and Post-Award team leads, investigators, department administrators, and sponsors to ensure compliance across sponsor and institutional policies. This role requires the selected candidate to have strong communication and coordination skills. This position allows for up to 50% remote work.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee all operational functions in OSP, including 2 direct reports within the operations team </li><li>Develop and implement a vision and advance goals and objectives for their team </li><li>Oversee the hiring, training, supervision, and retention of staff members, and provide opportunities for professional growth that increase the capacity and stability of the team </li><li>Foster a cohesive team that works collaboratively to achieve OSP's goals. Inspire and motivate staff members by fostering a work environment that encourages new ideas and team-based efforts, celebrates achievements, and sets and meets strategic goals </li><li>Manage staff activities to ensure compliance of institutional policies, federal and state regulations, and sponsor guidelines </li><li>Ensure OSP is providing a high level of customer service support to investigators and administrators </li><li>Organize and prioritize critical functions including communications between the institution and sponsor and other key stakeholders </li><li>Coordinate management of OSP information systems to ensure accurate and timely data for OSP functions </li><li>Articulate the mission and objectives of OSP and research administration generally. </li><li>Initiate, cultivate, and strengthen relationships related to research with various stakeholders, including leadership, investigators, administrators, external collaborators, and sponsors. </li><li>Work closely with the Pre- and Post-Award Managers and the Director to improve standard operating procedures and workflows for more efficient operations within OSP, and coordination/integration with the broader NYSPI/CU Psychiatry research community </li><li>Maintain current knowledge of federal initiatives, changes to regulations, and evolving national trends that affect research administration </li><li>Work with the relevant offices within NYSPI regarding research compliance (COI, IRB, IACUC, etc.) </li><li>Manage OSP office functions such as space management, assisting with onboarding of new OSP team members, time/attendance calendars across OSP, etc. </li><li>Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required. </li><li>(5) years of sponsored research administration experience, preferably in an academic research environment. </li><li>(2) year of experience leading a team and promoting a culture of inclusiveness, mentorship, collegiality, and support. </li><li>(2) years of experience leading and motivating team members in a hybrid work environment. </li><li>(4) years strong background with research administration, including proposal review, award acceptance and management, and broad knowledge of sponsor terms and federal regulations. </li><li>This role requires the selected candidate to have strong communication and coordination skills </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree. </li><li>1-2 years of experience in a central research administration office. </li></ul> <p>Work Location:1051 Riverside Drive, New York, NY 10032</p> <p>To Apply: Submit an application through our website at https://rfmh.applicantpro.com/jobs/.
